Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled 7th Grade English Teacher to join our team. This person will be responsible for teaching world literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing. They will design creative and engaging lessons, units, projects, and classroom activities to develop analytical reading, refined and diverse writing skills, critical thinking, and poised speaking skills. At ASD, we believe in cultivating a strong sense of curiosity and inquiry in our students. As the 7th Grade English Teacher, you will be an essential part of this mission — encouraging students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and think creatively. You will also work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff to integrate technology, interdisciplinary connections, and real-world applications into your teaching.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have: English 5-12 certification, or K-8 certification with English designation Middle school teaching experience A bachelor's or master's degree in English or a related field Strong subject matter expertise and a passion for teaching and learning Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills The strongest candidates will also bring a passion for literature, a disciplined and rigorous approach to writing, and a genuine gift for relating to middle schoolers.
