In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, foster a love for reading and writing, and support students' academic growth across diverse learning environments. Header Duties Develop comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, incorporating creative writing, literary analysis, and language skills. Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate learning technology, standardized testing preparation, and instructional design principles to meet diverse student needs. Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, including copy editing, proofreading, and adherence to AP style and the Chicago Manual of Style. Facilitate classroom management to create a positive learning environment that encourages active participation and respectful communication. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives focused on literacy education. Support students' social-emotional development through behavior management strategies and personalized academic advising. Header Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; higher education teaching experience preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle or high school level. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies. Experience integrating learning technology and library services into lesson plans to enhance literacy education. Ability to mentor students in journalism, creative writing, and standardized testing preparation. Excellent communication skills with organizational abilities to manage lesson planning and classroom activities effectively. Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management techniques, private school environments, or Montessori methods is a plus.
