High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher (Grades 9-12) About Spectrum Growth Spectrum Growth is a specialized school dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and independently. Our highly trained and dedicated staff work collaboratively to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and multiple disabilities through individualized instruction, evidence-based practices, and specialized programming. Our success is built upon individualized learning plans, functional academics, behavioral supports, communication development, and teaching strategies designed to meet each student's unique needs. Position Summary Spectrum Growth is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to serve students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, standards-based instruction while adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop literacy, communication, critical thinking, and life skills necessary for success beyond high school. Responsibilities Provide English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 9-12. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Ohio Learning Standards. Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs and learning styles. Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and multiple disabilities through individualized educational strategies. Utilize data and assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction. Collaborate with Intervention Specialists, Related Service Providers, Administrators, and Families. Maintain accurate student records and progress reports. Create a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment. Implement behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques. Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field. Valid Ohio Teaching License. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Integrated Language Arts (7-12) Licensure. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or multiple disabilities. Experience in alternative, special education, or charter school settings.
