High School English Teacher | Small Classes | Honors & AP Opportunities

We are seeking a full-time High School English Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position offers the opportunity to teach a variety of high school English courses, including Honors and Advanced Placement classes based on the strengths of the successful candidate. With average class sizes of approximately 12 students and a teaching load of approximately 72 students across six class sections , teachers have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students while providing thoughtful feedback and individualized instruction. Position Responsibilities Teach high school English courses as assigned by the principal. Plan and deliver engaging instruction in literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication. Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback. Maintain accurate academic records and communicate effectively with students and families. Collaborate with colleagues and actively participate in the life of the school community.

Qualifications Qualified candidates will:

Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in English, literature, education, communications, journalism, writing, or a related field. Hold a valid Ohio teaching license or be eligible and willing to obtain Ohio licensure through a traditional or alternative pathway. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Enjoy working with high school students and building positive relationships. Successfully complete FBI and BCI background checks and the Diocese of Toledo VIRTUS Safe Environment Program. New graduates, career changers, and professionals with experience in writing, journalism, communications, higher education, tutoring, or other fields involving work with adolescents are encouraged to apply.
