Job Description

Position Summary:
Perkiomen School seeks a full-time Humanities Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Working closely with other members of the English and History Departments, this teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction, communication with students and parents as well as student advisors, and remaining current on best practices in education.
Job Responsibilities:
Teaching 5 assigned sections within the English and History Departments; Teaching various levels of English and History instruction including Middle and Upper School; Writing grade comments on each student; Writing recommendations to college and various enrichment programs on behalf of individual students; Serving the school's after school program for two terms as either a coach or program leader; Serving the school's residential and student life program one weeknight per week and one weekend per month; Serving as an advisor to a select number of students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts degree in English, History or equivalent Experience teaching and working closely with adolescents of various ages Creative teaching style that embraces project-based learning Flexible planner to include both rigor and support for students Adventurist to guide students through new academic territory (new for faculty & student) Desire to be actively engaged in the school community Ability to serve in the School's co-curricular program as a coach or program leader Excellent communication skills Ability to support the residential life needs of a boarding school community Applicants Applicants should send a cover letter, three letters of recommendation, and resume to Carol Dougherty, Associate Head of School, to cdougherty@perkiomen.org
