Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Assist teachers in preparation and execution of classroom activities and management
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote the mission and philosophy of Ki Charter Academy Assist teachers/students in academic success as well as measuring and tracking results Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teachers; work with individual students or small groups Maintain a positive working relationship with teachers, administration and facility members Help maintain administrative records and prepare required reports a neat and orderly classroom Respond to directives from teachers and administrative staff in an efficient and timely manner Maintain classroom and manage students when the teacher is away Help supervise students throughout the day, inside and outside the classroom Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter Communicate professionally and courteously with students, faculty, facility and staff members Organize materials and adapt lessons for the specific academic needs of the students or assist teachers in preparing instructional materials Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events as assigned Manage and instruct students in a class room and laboratory situation in a temporary or long term situation Utilize computers effectively in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students Evaluate student's progress and provide meaningful feedback and positive reinforcement as directed Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Instructional Aide Certification II, or III or 15 Semester Hours of college credit and 1 year working with students
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to manage behaviors Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Knowledge of subjects assigned

$31,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
