Job Description

Spearman Jr. High is in search of an 8th grade ELAR teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position will pay an additional $3,000 for Master degree. District pays $466 per month towards applicants health insurance.
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in English Language Arts and help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree;
Valid Texas Teacher Certification Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop and implement lesson plans and fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations Conduct assessment of student learning/achievement through formal and informal testing Work cooperatively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, collegues and community members Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
