Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School English and Language Arts teacher to inspire and guide students through their critical developmental years. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft engaging curricula, foster a love for reading and writing, and support students in honing their communication skills. Responsibilities Develop and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression. Deliver engaging instruction in English language arts, including reading comprehension, writing techniques, grammar, vocabulary development, and literary analysis. Incorporate diverse teaching strategies and learning technologies to meet the varied needs of students, including those requiring special education accommodations. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages respectful communication, collaboration, and active participation among students. Mentor students in developing strong writing skills across various genres such as essays, creative writing, journalism, and research papers. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, school initiatives, standardized testing preparations, and instructional best practices. Engage in ongoing professional development related to linguistics, instructional design, classroom management, and literacy education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, English Literature, Linguistics or a related field; Master's degree preferred. experience with private or independent schools is advantageous. Strong classroom management skills with experience working with diverse learners including those with special education needs or behavior management requirements. Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate learning technology tools and foster literacy across multiple genres. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Experience in higher education teaching or tutoring is a plus; familiarity with standardized testing preparation is desirable. Pay:
$52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
