Position Title Nontenure Faculty Pool - Geography & Environmental Studies Job Posting Number 2027028NTL Job Location Round Rock, San Marcos College/Division College of Liberal Arts Department/School Department of Geography and Environmental Studies Position Description The Department of Geography & Environmental Studies seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting is for the summer 2026, fall 2026, spring 2027, and summer 2027 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants ing for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises. Required Qualifications Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject field is generally required. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience is preferred.
