Position Summary:
The College of Western Idaho is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach assigned courses in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Successful candidates are required to use the Canvas learning platform for grading, posting office hours, making announcements, etc. The successful candidate may be asked to teach M-F during the day or evening, or Saturday at any of the College of Western Idaho's campus locations using their own means of transportation. They may also be asked to teach exclusively on-line via the Canvas learning platform. To reach a broad range of students, the College of Western Idaho encourages instructors to explore alternative teaching styles and methods.
Essential Functions:
  • Teach contracted credit load of courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the CWI catalog
  • Utilize outcomes assessment measures
  • Participate in instructional evaluation processes
  • Meet all scheduled classes promptly with any deviations being filed and communicated promptly through the appropriate channels
  • Monitor and record student progress, maintain accurate records and adhere to the College of Western Idaho's deadlines for such procedures
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students
