Job Description

Department:
Child Development Center Salary:
$8.25 per hour (max. 20 hours per week)
Schedule:
Work hours will take place between 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. based upon availability of the Student Worker. (Not to exceed 20 hours per week)
Position Summary:
The duties of the JSU Child Development Center (CDC) Federal Work Study Student Worker are to obtain work experience on campus in the CDC. Duties may include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required. The Student Worker will assist with creating and developing lesson material, games, and manipulatives for the preschool class. In addition, the Student Worker will work with individual and small groups of children to develop their emerging pre-reading and pre-math skills, self-help skills and social skills. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants' skills, qualifications, and departmental needs. •Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting Staff and Faculty with classroom instruction and/or departmental operational needs. Performing Administrative tasks and other support duties as required by the department. Assist with creating and developing lesson materials, games, and manipulatives for the preschool class. Work with individual children or children in a group to enhance their pre-reading and math skills as well as social and self-help skills. Additional duties as required by the department
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled as a Jax State student taking at least six (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. •) If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher. Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJaxState. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. May not be a
