Full Job Description Description:
Academic Support Assistants (ASA) provide academic and administrative support that is valuable to professors and students. From supporting the academic teaching lectures of the assigned professor to leading small class discussions to encouraging conversations via discussion boards, ASAs are able to provide a personalized experience in lecture settings. ASAs also gain hands-on experience in teaching by working closely with professors.RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist faculty with such tasks as attendance, lectures, and breakout sessions Observe other professor's lectures and participate in Westcliff University professional development workshops offered by the Learning, Innovation, Teaching Excellence (LITE) Center Assure the proper setup and cleaning of labs and enforce laboratory rules to maintain a safe and educational environment Proctor examinations Support grading in GAP (the university LMS) Collaborate with assigned faculty regarding all aspects of assigned courses SKILLS Communicative- Someone with excellent oral and written communication skills.
