Job Description

Job Summary This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation of departmental activities. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment not to exceed 25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating. Students cannot work during class meeting times. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Answer phones and greet guests visiting the department. Assist department with clerical work-filing, copies, mail distribution, bank deposits, board meeting preparation, etc. Assist with event preparation, including preparing mailers, preparing race packets, managing linens and decor. Prepare staging area for each event with all required items to be transported for event. Assist with setup and breakdown of all events. Organize & maintain all department supplies, decor and event inventory. Perform other duties as assigned.
