Normal, IL Job Summary The majority of the graduate teaching assistant's primary duties are in support of instruction including but not limited to the responsibilities below: 1. Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory 2. Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks 3. Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory 4. Meet with and/or tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab, etc. Specific duties/responsibilities for these positions may include: 1. Grading 2. Tutoring 3. Leading problem-solving sessions 4. Delivering a course Salary Rate / Pay Rate $1510 Required Qualifications 1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf 2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in the Technology Program. 3. For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
