HERITAGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL EAGLE CARE ASSISTANT DEPARTMENT

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To provide support to the Eagle Care Director by performing those duties and responsibilities that assist in the care of students in the after and before school care program.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
The employee is a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both their professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. A love for children and the ability to work effectively with individual children as well as small and large groups must be present. A cheerful, kind, nurturing spirit with the ability to exercise sound judgment is essential. A team player who is flexible and proactive is needed.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
HS diploma or equivalent, and experience working with children are required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrive on time in order to set up for the day's activities Follow set procedures to check in and check out children Follow procedures to monitor students in the hallway, playground, gymnasium, or other facilities Be vigilant in watching for safety issues Actively use the walkie-talkie provided to alert other workers to any issues and respond to calls for students when parents arrive Build relationships with students Facilitate games and activities indoors and outdoors as required Aid in daily cleanup Respond appropriately to parents The above description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not restrict the administration's right to assign or reassign other reasonable duties, responsibilities, or expectations to this job at any time, with or without advance notice. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include remaining stationary for extended periods of time; moving up to 25 pounds; navigating the classroom or Eagle Care setting; observing and monitoring student behavior; communicating and exchanging information; and positioning oneself to assist students.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoors, outdoors, change in temperature/humidity; potential for excessive noise, using computer/monitor screen; may work alone, around, or with others. Some exposure to the elements is to be expected while assisting with student dismissal and recess duties.
EXEMPT STATUS
Non-exempt, hourly
WORK SCHEDULE
Follows the academic calendar per the direction of the Eagle Care Director.
