T.L. James Chair in Religion

Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track position holding the T.L. James Chair in Religion at the assistant, associate, or full professor level beginning Fall 2027. We are looking for someone to revive the program with expertise in religious pluralism and interreligious encounters, with a preference for expertise in the United States. Expertise in religion and law, religion and social change, or religion and medicine is desirable. Knowledge of experiential and engaged learning is desirable. Applicants should have a terminal degree in Religious Studies or a related area, demonstrated strength or a commitment to excellence in teaching, work experience in the profession, and a willingness to mentor undergraduate students in research. ABDs within one year of degree completion will be considered.

Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses at all levels. Teaching responsibilities include teaching three 4-credit-hour courses per semester.
