Job Description
Seeking Part-Time Afterschool STEM Assistant - Great for High School or College Students - Bedford, MA Inventor STEM School is looking for a friendly, responsible, and energetic Part-Time Afterschool STEM Assistant to join our team in Bedford, MA. The position combines working with children, helping with STEM activities, and communicating with families . The primary schedule is Monday-Friday, approximately 3:00-6:00 PM . Additional optional hours may be available on Saturday and Sunday as a STEM Instructor or Program Assistant. This is a great opportunity for a responsible high-school or college student from Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, or nearby communities who enjoys working with children and is interested in STEM, education, technology, or communication. We provide training, curriculum, lesson plans, and all necessary materials. We love to teach — and we will teach you too!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Helping communicate with families by phone and email and answering basic questions about our programs. Supervising children during afterschool activities, homework, games, and STEM projects. Helping keep the classroom safe, organized, friendly, and fun. Teaching or assisting with LEGO robotics, coding, engineering, and Minecraft activities. Learning our modern STEM curriculum and new skills. We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working with children. Is friendly, responsible, and reliable. Is comfortable talking with people. Is excited to learn and try new things.Bonus points for:
Experience working with children. Interest in LEGO, Minecraft, robotics, coding, or STEM. No special STEM experience is required. We love to teach! We provide training, curriculum, materials, and support to help you become comfortable working with children and teaching STEM activities. Optional Weekend Opportunities Interested in additional hours? Saturday and/or Sunday work may be available as a STEM Instructor or Program Assistant . Weekend activities may include teaching or assisting with LEGO robotics, Minecraft, coding, and engineering classes, working with families, and helping our weekend programs run smoothly. Weekend availability is optional and can be discussed based on your schedule.Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience and responsibilities.Pay:
