Job Description

Graduate Teaching Assistant - Durham Secondary Schools September start, £95 to £110 per day, perfect for recent graduates. Teaching Personnel is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across Durham. If you've recently graduated and you're considering a career in education, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on classroom experience while earning competitive pay. You'll support students in lessons, work alongside experienced teachers, and get a genuine feel for what working in education involves. Whether you're thinking about teacher training, educational psychology, or just want meaningful work while you figure out your next steps, this role offers valuable experience. What you'll be doing: Supporting students in lessons across different subjects Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to help students who need extra support Assisting teachers with classroom management and resources Helping students with additional learning needs Building positive relationships with students and staff Contributing to a supportive learning environment Gaining classroom experience that strengthens future applications You need: A degree in any subject Passion for working with young people Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience and adaptability Willingness to learn and develop Previous experience with children or young people is helpful but not essential What you get: £95 to £110 per day Flexible working options (full time or part time) Weekly pay via PAYE Access to free CPD and training Dedicated consultant support Valuable classroom experience for future teacher training or PGCE applications Opportunities for long term and permanent positions
