Join AlphaMinds Team as a Part-Time Chess Instructor! Are you a passionate chess player with a knack for teaching? AlphaMinds Academy, a premier academic and enrichment school catering to children from PreK through 12th grade, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time chess instructors.

Qualifications:

Chess Proficiency:

A deep love and understanding of chess are essential. A USCF Rating of 1,300 or higher (or an online equivalent) is a requirement

Teaching Experience:

Prior experience in teaching chess to children or working with young learners in any educational capacity is a plus.

Availability:

Must be available for in-person teaching sessions on weekdays (min 1-2 days/week), within the time frame of 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, starting in September 2026 in one of the following locations:

Hoboken, Jersey City, Newark or Union City Responsibilities:

Engaging Instruction:

Deliver captivating and educational chess lessons that ignite a passion for the game and nurture the strategic thinking skills of young minds.

Supportive Environment:

Create a nurturing and encouraging learning atmosphere that empowers students to thrive and excel in the world of chess.

Weekly Recaps:

Prepare short weekly recaps to keep parents informed of their children's progress.
