Job Description:
This recruitment will be used to fill up to 20 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) positions for the Department of Integrative Biology at Oregon State University (OSU). This recruitment is meant to serve as a job pool for faculty as needs arise. The Undergraduate Student Technical Assistant performs routine to complex technical tasks in support of research or administrative work which includes laboratory, green house, field plot, data collection, simple analysis, or the care and maintenance of animals.
Position Duties:
Duties may include but are not limited to: Proctoring for major field testing Grading lab work, projects, homework, quizzes, exams. Set up and taken down teaching laboratory materials including chemical preparation, equipment checking, glassware cleaning and conduct inventory of lab equipment. Cleaning and preparation in teaching labs Inventorying and preparing order requests for coordinator, cleaning labs, putting away equipment for summer sessions, maintaining facilities and other duties needed by coordinator Light office work including photocopying, printing, laminating, etc. Prepare dissection tools, perform dissections, follow disposal protocols for tissue waste. Accessing controlled rooms that house sensitive materials (cadavers, equipment) Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees.
