Full Job Description Work Schedule:
Attend on-boarding and training Paid preparation and training after school/evenings prior to the start of the program Attend EKT family orientation the week prior to the program. Approximately five hours daily during the program.
EKT Program hours:
8:00am - 1:00pm Mon-Thurs from July 20th to July 30th EKT is a two-week summer program at SUN schools that offers children and families a jump-start into a successful kindergarten year. The program focuses on academics, play, arts & music, exploration and developing friendships in an inclusive and joyful classroom.
The program has two components:
a two-week program for incoming kindergarten students, and provides family education sessions that are required. EKT partners with SUN and Multnomah Co. The role of EA assists the teacher in all aspects of the program, works with small groups and individual students and helps with recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Support the EKT classroom teacher, parent educator and SUN site manager in preparing and implementing the program for incoming kindergarteners Support with recruitment/communication to students and families Provides student support and supervision Creates a welcoming, engaging and joyful kindergarten transition program Support with data tracking and reporting
