Job Description

About Us Pulse Cardiovascular Institute (an office-based lab, or OBL) and Pulse Cardiovascular Interventions (an ambulatory surgery center, or ASC) are pioneering a new model of clinic-based cardiovascular care. Our board-certified vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, and cardiologists diagnose and treat peripheral vascular and vein conditions using one of the most advanced imaging systems available in vascular medicine today.
Job Title:
Pre-Health Intern Why This Internship This isn't shadowing from the back of the room. Pre-Health Interns work alongside our clinical team in a real, fast-moving vascular surgery practice — and the experience pays off. More than 50% of our interns who complete 300+ hours go on to be accepted to medical school. If you're serious about a career in medicine, this is where you build the hands-on experience, clinical exposure, and mentorship that set strong applicants apart. What You'll Gain Clinical hours in a live vascular surgery practice — direct patient interaction, not back-of-the-room observation Volunteer pre-med hours that strengthen medical, PA, and nursing school applications Research experience working alongside our clinical and academic team Opportunities to publish — contribute to case reports, posters, and research presented at national meetings Overview We're seeking motivated high school seniors, college students, and recent graduates ready to immerse themselves in a dynamic healthcare environment specializing in vascular surgery. This role is ideal for anyone pursuing medicine, physician assistant/associate, nursing, or another pre-health path. Please note this is a volunteer position. What You'll Do Work directly with clinicians to record patient medical histories Measure and accurately document vital signs Gain real exposure to vascular and occupational health practices and procedures Help manage electronic health records in our Tebra system Contribute to planning the annual TED Congress, a national vascular symposium Pursue research opportunities, available based on experience and interest Who We're Looking For Current high school senior, college student, or recent graduate A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting Strong communicator with sharp attention to detail Eager to learn and take on diverse responsibilities Nice to Have Coursework in human physiology and anatomy Familiarity with electronic health record systems CPR certification, phlebotomy experience, or CNA/MA training Proficiency in Canva and Word/Excel Ready to Begin? This is a rare chance to deepen your medical knowledge, build practical clinical skills, and learn directly from seasoned healthcare professionals — experience that genuinely moves the needle on health-professional school applications. (Volunteer role.) If you're passionate about healthcare and ready to launch your medical career, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.
