Part-time Gastroenterology Physician - Assistant Professor (0.5 FTE) Position # 00846871 - Requisition #39802Job Summary:
As an important member of the University of Colorado GI faculty, the Gastroenterologist will have clinical responsibilities including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital consultations, endoscopic procedures, and nights/weekends call coverage. The gastroenterologist's primary practice site will be the University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus, where they will provide outpatient and inpatient GI consultative and endoscopic services. The successful applicant for this position will be someone who communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, staff, consultants, and colleagues, has outstanding customer service skills, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.Key Responsibilities:
Evaluation and management of GI disorders within the scope of a general gastroenterologist including: GERD Dysphagia IBS/functional GI disorders Eosinophilic Esophagitis Abnormal liver function tests Pancreatitis Occult iron deficiency anemia GI motility disordersWork Location:

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.Assistant Professor:
A medical degree from an accredited institution Board certification or active board eligibility in Gastroenterology Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State of Colorado medical license Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such as Epic ACLS and BLS certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills to interface with learners, faculty, healthcare teams, administrators, community organizations and donors Candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community and work toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Knowledge of the professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care in the gastroenterology clinic. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care. Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition, and interpreting findings. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their family members, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Assistant Professor:
$160,000-$180,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
