POSITION OVERVIEW JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences is seeking qualified part-time adjunct instructors to teach in the following fields: Medical Laboratory Sciences which may include Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular, Immunology, and Immunohematology or lower-level prerequisite or non-MLS courses such as Clinical Genetics and Clinical Biochemistry or Fundamentals of Microbiology. The college is building a pool of adjuncts for teaching opportunities for upcoming semesters. Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis. Your application will be reviewed by the appropriate academic department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Holds at least the master's degree in an appropriate specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee may engage in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization such as clinical laboratory sciences, biomedical sciences, or biochemistry. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist either as a generalist or in the field that is being taught with the exception of prerequisite courses. Prerequisite and non-MLS core courses do not require an MLS certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or higher degree in an appropriate field of specialization or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. The ideal candidate will be flexible and creative with experience teaching in both face-to-face and online learning environments, including laboratory courses. Experience in teaching is preferred. Must be certified (unless teaching non-MLS core courses) as an MLS or MT (ASCP preferred) and licensed as an MLS in the state of Florida (preferred) or willing to get a license.
