Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for aspiring and current emergency responders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine, teaching, and adult education, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts. This role involves preparing students for real-world emergency situations through hands-on instruction, curriculum development, and adherence to industry standards. The EMS Instructor will play a vital role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of emergency personnel, ensuring they are prepared to provide critical care in high-pressure environments. Duties Develop, update, and deliver engaging EMS training courses aligned with current protocols and industry standards. Conduct classroom lectures, practical skills sessions, and simulation exercises for students of varying experience levels. Assess student performance through written exams, practical evaluations, and skill demonstrations. Provide constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement and mastery of emergency medical skills. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and certifications for all trainees. Ensure all training activities comply with legal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Incorporate curriculum development best practices to enhance learning outcomes for adult learners. Collaborate with law enforcement, military units, or emergency room personnel to incorporate diverse perspectives and expertise into training programs. Stay current with advancements in emergency medicine, CPR, first aid, and related fields to ensure training content remains relevant and effective. Experience Proven experience in emergency medicine or related fields such as emergency room work, military medical services, law enforcement medical units, or paramedic practice. Prior teaching or instructional experience preferred; certification in adult education or instructional design is a plus. Demonstrated expertise in CPR, first aid, and other life-saving techniques. Strong background in curriculum development tailored for emergency responders or healthcare professionals. EMT experience or similar certification highly desirable; military medical service background is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage adult learners effectively. Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse audiences with varying levels of prior knowledge and experience.
