261719 Position #: 40058647 The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgeon to join our faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The division is part of an academic general surgery program which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health. AU Health is a tertiary care level 1 Trauma Center with a large multi-specialty practice. The practice has a fully integrated vascular lab and access to a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room and Cath Labs. Responsibilities Provide patient care, education and research in the field of Vascular Surgery. Provide clinical and call coverage as outlined by the Section Chief. As a Clinician-Educator, train students and residents. Maintain appropriate clinical records relating to patients treated to the extent required by applicable state and federal laws. Produce the appropriate number of RVU's for specialty and work effort. Participate in the educational programs of the Department, which includes teaching, service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc. The division is part of an academic surgery department which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health. Required Qualifications MD/DO degree; Qualified candidates should be board-certified in Vascular surgery with a minimum of 1-5 years of experience. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Candidates must be board-certified in vascular surgery, and should have at least five years of clinical experience. Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or part-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
