Job Description
The Dental Hygiene Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical settings within the Dental Hygiene Program. The adjunct faculty member supports student learning and success through effective teaching strategies, assessment of student performance, professional mentoring, and adherence to program, institutional, and accreditation standards. Supervise students during laboratory and clinical experiences to ensure safe and effective patient care. Evaluate student clinical competencies and ensure compliance with program standards and clinical requirements. Monitor infection control, safety procedures, and professional conduct within the clinical setting. Assist with maintenance and proper use of laboratory and clinical equipment and supplies. Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program. Current active Dental Hygiene license in the State of Iowa and/or Nebraska. Minimum of two years of recent clinical dental hygiene experience. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist in clinical or laboratory settings for extended periods. Ability to demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate dental equipment and instruments.
