North Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Compensation:
$90,000 - $100,000 based on experience and qualifications Position Summary The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine is seeking a full-time, faculty member (will entertain part-time) of a rank of Assistant / Associate Professor. The candidate will primarily be responsible for teaching and coordinating the Pharmacology course. The successful candidate may also demonstrate expertise in teaching in other areas of basic or clinical science associated with the individual's specialty area and experience.

Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine - Scholl is the name to know in podiatric medicine. Founded in 1912 by a pioneer in podiatry, Scholl College is an international resource in the field. In fact, one out of three podiatrists in the U.S. is a Scholl College alumnus. As part of Rosalind Franklin University (RFU), we provide a fully accredited, four-year professional program leading to the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree, along with opportunities for a combined DPM/PhD degree. Scholl prepares tomorrow's top physicians and leaders in the field of podiatry. Scholl College is recognized for its exceptional clinical education, in part because of the RFU Health Clinics adjacent to the RFU campus. We have access to clinical experiences in a variety of healthcare settings throughout the Chicago metro area, where our students participate in multiple rotations, at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and other leading metro area Chicago teaching hospitals. Furthermore, our campus offers a 100,000-square-foot Innovation and Research Park to encourage advancements in podiatric medicine and other healthcare specializations - and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and teach the Pharmacology course to Podiatric medical students
  • Potentially coordinate and/or teach in other basic or clinical science courses
  • Mentor students in aspects of the curriculum and in their professional development
  • Provide formative and summative assessment questions
  • Participate in curriculum development and assessment
  • Provide service to the College, University, and Profession
  • Participate in interviewing podiatric medical school student candidates
  • Stay current in the scholarship of their discipline and teaching methodology
  • Participate in faculty development activities sponsored by the Department, College, and University
  • Maintain a collegial relationship with all faculty and staff of the College and University
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Basic Biomedical Sciences All full-time faculty members employed by RFUMS are expected to engage in activities that are considered core to their primary role as a faculty member. These activities may include teaching, scholarly activity, and service. Teaching responsibilities vary and may include:
