The College of Science, Health and Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy Program is accredited by ACPE with a curriculum that is delivered in an accelerated year-round three-year curriculum. Roosevelt University College of Science, Health and Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy Program, Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences, Schaumburg, IL, is seeking applications for an Academic Fellow, appointed as a full-time, year-round, non-tenure track Instructor position. This position is a 2-year visiting faculty appointment designed to provide training and experiences to prepare the individual for a full faculty appointment. Clinical responsibilities are consistent with experiences provided in a PGY1 residency and teaching responsibilities include clinical precepting and didactic course assignments. This faculty position reports to the Academic Fellowship Director and includes teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities. Position responsibilities include teaching and coordinating assigned didactic courses, supporting clinical labs and workshops, and additional teaching as assigned by the Director, rotating through assigned clinical practice sites, serving as a preceptor and role model for students, mentoring pharmacy and medical residents, collaborative clinical and academic research or other scholarly activity appropriate for a non-tenure track position, and service to the department, college, university, and community. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required The successful candidate must possess superior clinical skills, demonstrate effective communication skills, a commitment to interprofessional practice and education, a record of excellence in didactic and experiential teaching, and interest in engaging in College and University faculty governance. To be hired as a Clinical Practice Instructor, a candidate (1) must have a Pharm.

D degree, (2) be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of IL within 6 months of hiring. To be hired as a Clinical Practice Instructor, a candidate must satisfy the Instructor Rank requirements and have demonstrated clinical ability consistent with that of a recent graduate of a Doctor of Pharmacy program. Recommendations from clinical preceptors, PharmD transcript and performance on APPE rotations will be considered, along with the candidate's statement of interest. Years of Experience Required Certification/Licensure Required Candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. License must be obtained within 6 months of start of position for the first-year contract to be renewed for the subsequent year. Minimum Qualifications See Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required. Preferred Qualifications A record of excellence in clinical practice, academic performance, work in the profession (as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician), and productivity in original research are all highly desirable. Previous teaching experience is also desirable. Equipment Operated Basic office equipment (e.g., laptop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
