Clinical instructors work directly with dental hygiene students in the clinic, providing hands-on instruction, guidance, and feedback throughout the dental hygiene process of care. Students range from beginning clinicians learning foundational patient care and instrumentation skills to advanced students managing more complex periodontal patients and preparing for board examinations and professional practice. Clinical teaching opportunities are available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays from 7:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 12:45-5:00 p.m. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene or an equivalent field preferred Current Indiana dental hygiene license At least one year of full-time or two years of part-time clinical experience Current clinical continuing education Previous or upon-hire training in educational methodology Current American Heart Association CPR certification Availability for three faculty calibration workshops each academic year and annual HIPAA training Interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting future dental hygienists. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
