Job Description

Clinician Educator (3-309-1293) - ( 250000YK ) The Division of Hospitalist and General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full-time outpatient general internists for our growing practice. Clinical responsibilities include participation in our faculty group practice with eleven other internists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents in the outpatient setting. This position will be responsible for increasing access to primary care at one or more of our ambulatory locations. We currently practice in Baltimore City and Reisterstown. Additionally, our success in the Maryland Primary Care Program (MDPCP) also hinges on efficient and timely transitional follow up for patients recently seen in the ED or discharged from the hospital. This position may help continue to expand transition of care services from the hospital to outpatient, further increasing outpatient volumes, access, and chronic disease management. In addition to offering in-person appointments, we will also leverage our telemedicine platform to increase access to care for our patients. The candidate may also assist with training and co-management of patients with residents in our outpatient clinic in Baltimore City. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $173,216 (min) and $276,350 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University. Qualifications Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.
