FY27 Emergency Medicine Faculty - ( 250000YV ) Emergency Medicine - Academic Opportunities in Baltimore, Maryland The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates interested in an academic emergency medicine faculty position. The primary missions of the Department of Emergency Medicine are to be recognized as leading educators in Emergency Medicine and to be the premier provider of emergency care in our region. This academic faculty position includes significant teaching opportunities with emergency medicine residents, medical students at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and fellows. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for involvement in teaching activities within the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center. The Department has a strong focus on faculty development and seek to grow the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine. The anticipated rank is Assistant Professor; however, rank and tenure status are dependent upon the candidate's qualifications .

TEACHING
- Our physicians are heavily involved in the education of residents and medical students every day. Their mission to educate begins at the bedside, imparting knowledge, and teaching skills necessary to diagnose illnesses and treat patients. Opportunities abound to teach medical students and residents in lecture, lab, clinical, and community settings.
RESIDENCY AND FELLOWSHIPS
- Our Emergency Medicine Residency Program, with over 50 residents, is one of the nation's largest and most respected. We are the only program in the country to offer training in four tracks: emergency medicine, emergency medicine/pediatrics, emergency medicine/internal medicine, and emergency medicine/internal medicine/critical care. We also offer fellowships in diverse areas including administrative leadership, cardiology, faculty development, ultrasound, health policy, and simulation.
CLINICAL
- We staff the Emergency Departments at four hospitals in the heart of downtown
Baltimore:
University of Maryland Medical Center-Downtown Campus, University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus, Mercy Medical Center, and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Serving a diverse urban and underserved population, our physicians provide the highest level of care in state-of-the-art facilities.
RESEARCH
- Our Emergency Medicine faculty are a diverse group of clinical, basic science, and epidemiologic investigators who have successfully competed for grants on a national level. We collaborate with multiple disciplines within the University of Maryland School of Medicine and continue to expand our research program. What you can expect from
