Instructs and guides students in clinical, laboratory, and SIM settings in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for instructional responsibilities Provides flexibility in clinical teaching, simulation teaching, and specialty area teaching as needed by the department Maintains a safe learning environment Provides regular, timely, formative and summative feedback to students regarding progress Advisesstudentsregardingtheirgradesandprogressinthecourse/program Meets and maintains division and clinical partner annual requirements Collaborates with course faculty, clinical coordinator, and/or simulation/lab coordinator to evaluate lab, simulation and clinical site experiences Communicates with course faculty and nursing division leadership as needed regarding attendance, student or clinical site issues in a timely manner Selects clinical learning experiences that facilitate each student's progress toward End-of Program, Course, and Clinical Student Learning Outcomes Supervises and evaluates students in the clinical setting per division and clinical partner policies Maintains laboratory/SIM equipment and materials in a safe and organized manner Serves as faculty advisor to students Maintains records of advisee's enrollment, courses taken, courses dropped, grades received and progress toward graduation Provides input for nursing division admission criteria Maintains and posts regular office hours Uses evidence-based teaching and assessment strategies, provides constructive feedback, and adapts instructional methods to meet diverse student learning needs. Serves as a member of faculty, advisory, and assigned Nursing Division and college committees Attends professional development opportunities including completion of annual HR requirements Participates in professional meetings, college outreach & recruitment efforts and community service Participates in ongoing program curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation including input on recommended changes Participates in pinning and graduation exercises Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to role model and promote effective organizational skills in the clinical/simulation setting Innovative,creative,motivated and works well with others. Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina Must have two(2) calendar years' prior full-time employment, or the equivalent, in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to teach in more than one type of clinical setting such as Pediatric, Behavioral Health, Mother/Baby, in addition to Med-Surg Must meet educational requirements of the NC Board of Nursing within three (3) years of hire Must obtain Master of Science in Nursing within five (5) years of hire
Preferences:
Master of Science in Nursing Clinical teaching experience in a program at or above the level of Associate Degree Nursing Depth of nursing practice experience in at least one specialty clinical area (Depth rather than just short stints in multiple settings).
