Job Description

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Faculty on behalf of a mission-driven osteopathic medical school in New Mexico! This is an exciting opportunity for physician educators who are passionate about osteopathic medical education, student mentorship, and helping train the next generation of compassionate physicians serving underserved communities. The institution fosters a highly collaborative academic environment focused on integrated curriculum models, practical clinical application, interdisciplinary learning, and organizational health initiatives centered around communication, integrity, collaboration, and student success. Flexible FTE arrangements are available, particularly for physicians interested in balancing academic medicine with clinical practice opportunities.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, faculty members will support classroom instruction, laboratory teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, and ongoing educational initiatives within the OMM department. The role offers opportunities to contribute meaningfully to an expanding osteopathic medical education program while working closely with collaborative faculty teams and students within an integrated curriculum environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver lectures and laboratory instruction in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Teach hands-on OMM skills and clinical applications within lab settings Support written and practical student assessments and examination development Participate in curriculum development and continuous educational improvement initiatives Mentor and advise osteopathic medical students Participate in faculty development, CME, and departmental initiatives Assist with admissions interviews and academic service activities as needed Support organizational health initiatives focused on collaboration, communication, and institutional culture
Qualifications:
DO or MD required Board certification or board eligibility in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM), or another specialty with OMT experience strongly preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and student mentorship skills Academic teaching and curriculum development experience preferred, but not required
Additional Details:
Flexible scheduling depending on teaching responsibilities and optional clinical commitments Potential opportunities to maintain clinical practice through local hospitals, residency programs, and regional OMM practices Sign-on support may be available depending on faculty rank, FTE structure, and relocation distance Standard academic schedule generally Monday-Friday with occasional evening/weekend events or activities
Compensation:
Salary
  • based on 1.0 FTE
  • would be prorated depending on FTE Assistant Professor
  • $205,000 Professor
  • $248,050 Associate Professor
  • $225,500 Sign On Bonus
  • instead of relocation
  • depends on rank, FTE, and the distance candidate would need to relocate
