Job Description:
The Health Studies Program is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach the following classes: Exploring Health Careers, and Introduction to the U.S. Health Care System. These courses are designed for students planning a career in health care or a health-related field. The classes provide an introduction to various health professions, essential components of the health care system and health care policies. The candidate will be responsible for: Developing materials to help students understand required education and skills for working in health care Creating course content to assist students in understanding the key characteristics of the health care system Inviting guest speakers from different health professions to visit the class
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess: A Master's degree in public health or health-related field One year of teaching experience Experience working in healthcare settings The candidate must be available to teach between the hours of 8am - 5pm. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Five or more years actively working in the health field is strongly preferred. Experience and familiarity with learning management systems such as Blackboard or Brightspace is also preferred.
