Job Description

Adjunct Instructor Medical Sociology POSTED Wednesday, July 08, 2026 Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. Elmira College is now hiring for an adjunct instructor to teach and design an online, asynchronous, 3-credit, Medical Sociology class for fall 2026. This class will examine the social factors in the cause, meaning, and distribution of diseases, illnesses, and treatments, in conjunction with the Director of Educational Technologies and the Division Chair of the Social Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS
MA or ABD status in Sociology or a related social or medical science.
WORK LOCATION
Remote
COMPENSATION
$1,000 upon completion of course design. $2,700 ($900/credit) for teaching the course. This position is not benefit eligible.
