A Health Sciences Professor teaches foundational health science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the health science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time nursing clinical instructor to join our team. This role involves hands-on instruction and supervision to nursing students in the clinical settings, helping them bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The ideal candidate will be a skilled nursing professional with a passion for teaching, mentorship, and fostering the next generation of healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively create an inclusive learning environment. Utilize evidence-based practice and adult learning principles to instruct students in the clinical/laboratory/simulation settings. Understand the objectives of the assigned course, and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the pre-licensure program. Collaborate with preceptors, nurses, clinical managers, staff nurses, and other representatives of the assigned clinical site to plan students' clinical experience. Guide students in delivering safe, quality patient care Mentor the students' development of clinical decision-making and clinical judgment skills, competency in the execution of clinical skills, and effective communication with patients, families, and other members of the health care team Evaluate students' clinical practice and provide feedback on the accomplishments of clinical objectives. Communicate student concerns on time to the course faculty Facilitate learning in the health care environment Participate in all mandatory trainings and/or meetings required before and during the semester, including site-specific orientation Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication and collaborative interprofessional relationships Apply clinical expertise in the health care environment Facilitate learner development and socialization. Implement practical clinical assessment and evaluation strategies Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
BSN required. Current or eligible for an active, unencumbered Tennessee registered nursing license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Tennessee.
BLS/ACLS
