A Health Sciences Professor teaches foundational health science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the health science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
Job Description The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Rheumatology is seeking applicants for a full-time, open rank academic position. Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials. Responsibilities Responsibilities include the practice of Rheumatology, commitment to clinical care, supervision of residents and students. Responsibilities of this position may include leading the Division of Rheumatology, and supporting faculty development of Rheumatologists. Qualifications Requires an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, and board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Departmental Preferences:
Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology. Expertise is welcome but not required in the area of leadership in building clinical and research teams and mentoring established and junior researchers and trainees. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include experience in clinical, translational, or basic research, as well as in quality, health services and outcomes, epidemiology, implementation and dissemination research, or medical informatics. Established applicants with a clinical, translational, or basic research program who are looking to expand their personal research efforts, and to nucleate development of a larger program that includes investigators focused on areas of rheumatic or non-rheumatic pediatric medicine are encouraged to apply.
