No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Primary duties of full time faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning oues identified for the assigned courses, as well as recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Full time faculty members are also responsible for participation in professional development activities, serving on collegemittees, developing and updating curriculum, textbook, equipment selection and instructional materials. Faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and ad to College policies and prores. Works with and maintains accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care Programs, as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). 1. Establishes and maintains Clinical Affiliations with area health care facilities. 2. Makes original contact with prospective clinical facilities.. Negotiate with clinical facility liaison to establish annual contracts. 3. Monitor clinical relationship with facilities throughout the year. 4. Institute the annual clinical contract renewal with facilities. 5. Continually seek new clinical affiliations to improve program quality. 6. Provide effective leadership in developing, conducting, and ongoing assessment of the clinicalcation program. Clinical Coordinators will be given a 3.75 load ction to aplish the required duties of the Clinical Coordinator Performs other duties relating to curriculum and instruction as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) academic, oral and written English proficiency requirements. All full time faculty members must demonstrate a willingness and abilities to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit environments. Must possess or currently working on a Baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a federally recognized institutional accrediting agency, hold a valid RRT credential and current state license. Four (4) years' experience as an RRT with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care. Minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs. Must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) academic, oral and written English proficiency requirements. Must be willing to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes. Required Education All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degreepletion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstratedpetencies in the teaching discipline. Baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a federally recognized institutional accrediting agency, hold a valid RRT credential and current state license. Minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for such programs.   • Plans, rmends, and supervises clinical offerings. (I)
  • Supervises Clinical Adjunct. (II)
  • Effectively and frequentlymunicates with clinical faculty in the program, including scling program meetings consistently. (III)
  • Effectively resolves studentplaints or refers them to program Director promptly if not resolved. (III)
  • Effectively resolvesplaints or disagreements among clinical faculty in the program. (III)
  • Monitors standards of quality, such as those related to clinical course syllabi, outlines, grading standards, and rmends actions as needed. (IV)
  • Monitors curricular and instructional information relating to the clinical courses to ensure its accuracy. (IV)
  • Rmends budget items to Program Director (V)
  • Assist the Program Director as they work effectively with external accrediting agencies to acquire or maintain state and national accreditation. (VI)
  • Assist the Program Director to establishe and maintain Clinical Affiliations with area health care facilities. (VII)
  • Clinical Coordinator will be given a 3.75 hour (25%) load ction to aplish the required duties of the Clinical Coordinator (XIII)
  • Performs other duties relating to curriculum and instruction as assigned by supervisor.
(IX) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Each full time faculty member must demonstrate the ability to develop curriculum and instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability tomunicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, gic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and prores of the College. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Registered Respiratory Therapist, RCP license through the Texas Medical Board, AARC and TSRC memberships, BLS and ACLS certfication through the American Heart Association.
