A Health Sciences Professor teaches foundational health science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the health science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Candidates with a minimum of three years of post-training clinical experience in an academic setting are preferred. This faculty member will join the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology at UVA, contributing to the care of children with complex rheumatologic conditions across both ambulatory clinics and inpatient consult service at UVA Children's Hospital. The role also includes meaningful engagement in medical education through the teaching and mentorship of medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology fellows.
