Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for joint appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 536163), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.Applicants should possess:
(i) a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline; (ii) evidence of international recognition and a strong record of scholarship with a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong commitment to engaging students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iv) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants. We are seeking academic leaders and scholars whose work advance the understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying mental disorders and neuropsychiatric diseases. We welcome applicants from psychiatry and related fields, in particular genomics, epigenetics, neurobiology, biostatistics and big data analytics. Applicants who adopt multidisciplinary approaches to address key challenges in psychiatry and neuroscience, and with research of high translational potential are particularly encouraged to apply. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable. The University only accepts online applications for the above post.
