Description The Academic Evaluator is responsible for the accurate and timely evaluation, processing, and posting of undergraduate and graduate transfer credit. This includes, but is not limited to, the assessment of domestic and international transcripts, standardized exam credit (AP, IB, CLEP, DSST), dual enrollment coursework, and transient requests. The position plays a key role in maintaining academic integrity, supporting student success, and ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies. Job Duties Evaluate and process incoming academic records to determine transferability and applicability of coursework toward university degree requirements. Maintain and update transfer credit equivalency tables in collaboration with academic departments and faculty reviewers. Utilize systems such as Slate, Banner, TES, Argos, and BDMS to manage credit articulation, academic records, and student data. Collaborate with the Office of Admissions and academic units to ensure timely evaluation and posting of credits. Support curriculum management by working with the Registrar and academic leadership to align transfer credit with current degree programs and audits. Remain current with institutional policies, state articulation guidelines, and national standards related to transfer credit and academic evaluation.
Including:
recommending and implementing improvements, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in credit evaluation and attending professional conferences. Independently prioritize tasks, make well-informed decisions, and exercise sound professional judgment. Evaluate domestic and international academic credentials. Analyze university transcripts and degree audits. Support and assist at university commencements. Participate in university committees and planning groups as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Minimum one (1) year of experience working in higher education or experience in a similar role involving records or evaluations. Ability to prepare reports, forms, and evaluating documents using sound judgment and working independently. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential documents. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Possess strong organizational skills. Ability to read, understand, and interpret university academic policies. Ability to communicate easily and clearly with prospective students, families, and staff. Ability to lift 25 pounds as needed. Ability to report to work daily, five days per week, and the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of computer software such as Banner, TES, and Microsoft Office . Knowledge of federal student privacy laws (FERPA).
