Job Description
Assistant Director of Financial Aid Salary Schedule Placement:
Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule C3. In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Dean of Students, the President, and the State Board of Education, responsibilities will include the following: Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures. Advise students and families on financial aid programs, eligibility, and application processes, including FAFSA completion. Review financial aid applications, determine eligibility, process awards, and maintain required documentation and records. Administer federal and state aid programs, including Pell Grants, Federal Work-Study, and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, ensuring regulatory compliance. Evaluate satisfactory academic progress, appeals, withdrawals, and other factors affecting aid eligibility. Process financial aid applications and related documentation through electronic systems and maintain accurate student records. Communicate with applicants and students through correspondence, award notifications, document requests, phone calls, and in-person service. Prepare and submit reports and required documentation to the U.S. Department of Education and other agencies. Coordinate with the Business Office regarding disbursements and student payments. Collaborate with the Director of Financial Aid to support the implementation and administration of financial aid programs. Maintain and update financial aid website content, consumer information, and outreach materials to ensure accuracy and compliance. Provide courteous and professional service to students, employees, and the public. Maintain high ethical standards, work collaboratively with others, and demonstrate respect for all college constituents. Perform duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director, Dean of Students, or the President. Required Qualifications Associate degree Minimum of two years of experience in Financial Aid required.
