Job Description
Director of Admissions Talladega College seeks an Admissions Director to promote the merits and distinction of the college to prospective students, and to develop an enrollment system that attracts the maximum number of new and transfer students in line with the college's strategic plan admissions goals. The person in this position will report directly to the Vice President of Student Services. Responsibilities Oversees the functions of college marketing for the admissions office and recruitment and admissions processing. Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other college departments to promote the college and attract new students. Analyzes trends in enrollment and marketing activities to achieve continued flow of quality applicants and transfers to the college. Review and evaluate all applications for admissions. Leads activities to continue programs that are deemed effective, modifies programs as needed, and presents new sales strategies for the college's recruitment and admissions activities. Makes presentations and speeches at alumni meetings, high school conferences/job fairs, etc. Directs staff in day-to-day operations and in staging open houses on campus for prospective students and parents. Travel throughout the United States to high schools and junior colleges to recruit and promote the college on a nationwide basis. Directs the use of admissions-related computer technology to maximize admissions processing capability in a minimal turn-around time. Works with and gain respect of diverse individuals and groups as sources for candidates for admissions to the college. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Masters degree in Business Administration (area of marketing). Three or more years' experience in an Admissions or related office. Record of two or more years of administrative experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for experience. Strong oral and written skills. A self-starter who demonstrates strong analytical/organizational and problem solving skills. Must be energetic, a visionary, charismatic and have interpersonal skills.
