Dean of Students CJHS-26/27 SY

Position Summary The dean of students will work with the building principal to ensure the overall academic success for approximately 700 students from a diverse community. The dean of students will work with students, staff, and the community to maintain an effective learning environment and healthy personal development for students. Specific position duties include; supervision of instruction, staff supervision, collaboration with parents, management of the facility and developing community partnerships. As an instructional leader, the dean of students will be responsible for working with district staff to select and supporting school staff based on the instructional emphasis of the school.

Qualifications:

Hold or eligible for Arizona certification as a School Principal (preferred not required) Demonstrated ability to improve student academic and social development Demonstrated success in multicultural learning environments Experience implementing systematic school improvement through effective instruction and student management Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, the community and district administrators Ability to provide instructional leadership for students with a variety of learning abilities Demonstrated success in cultivating and sustaining meaningful partnerships with families and community members to support student achievement and well-being Demonstrated success in interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Arizona driver's license, required Reports to:

Terms of Employment:

10-month contract Administrative Salary Schedule, Dependent upon Degree and Experience. Exempt position under FLSA Benefits - all approved benefits for administrative employees
