Job Summary This is a College of Graduate Nursing Administration-level position within Western University of Health Science and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role of Site Dean, CGN-NW (PCN A04020) and the faculty role (PCN F03343) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE). The salary range listed in this posting represents the total compensation for the combined Administrative and Faculty responsibilities. Please refer to the corresponding job posting under our Faculty jobs section for details on the additional assignment. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, is the administrative leader of the College of Graduate Nursing - Oregon's academic components. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, reports directly to the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW and has general responsibility for implementation and coordination of all academic functions within the College as assigned by the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW. The associate and assistant deans and other heads of academic components of CGN report to the Site Dean, CGN-NW, for administrative components of their academic responsibilities for curriculum delivery and student academic success. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, supports the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW in allocating and utilizing resources for the implementation of all its academic programs. Reporting to the Dean, CGN and CGN-NW, the Site Dean is responsible for exercising leadership in the delivery of programs of instruction, research, and services across the academic components, and works closely with administration to fulfill this responsibility. The position also works closely with members of the CGN Executive Leadership Team and is guided by an awareness of the College's overall goals when making recommendations and taking actions that affect the academic programs. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, may consult with individuals and groups within the College in carrying out the position responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities An individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Experience in assessing, designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating graduate nursing leadership training and development programs.
Proven success in partnering with executive and senior leaders to translate College objectives and priorities into effective learning programs.
Experience coaching and developing leadership talent.
Experience in implementing and leading mentoring programs.
Successful in establishing and maintaining excellent professional relationships.
Proven success in analyzing performance problems, conducting needs assessment, and implementing appropriate solutions.
Expertise in building and implementing competency management processes for leadership development and career succession.
Ability to anticipate organizational changes to respond proactively or modify plans.
Knowledge and skill with the application of distance learning principles and standards.
Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
Knowledge of historic and current nursing education practices and standards.
Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.

Required Qualifications Education:
A Doctor in Nursing Practice or Ph.D. in Nursing degree is required.Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Director, or Assistant/Associate Dean, or equivalent experience in a nationally accredited graduate nursing program. A minimum of five (5) years working with leaders in healthcare and academia is required.Licensure:
Must possess a current RN license.Preferred Qualifications Education:
Organizational development, executive health care leadership, business administration, management, and executive coaching certification are preferred.Experience:
Experience working with assessment tools, coaching, succession management, leadership development, and organizational development practices. Familiar with building successful coaching relationships with demonstrated outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills with extensive experience in management, with the ability to mentor and lead a team of highly capable professionals.Essential Job Duties Key Responsibilities Policy Formation Implementation:
Recommends major academic, research, and community impact policies to the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW. Working with individuals and committees of the College, the Site Dean, CGN-NW, interprets College policies and later assesses their potential impact, and provides leadership in developing policies that assist in implementing the structural needs of the CGN-Oregon programs and in meeting the needs of leaders. Ensures all legal and accreditation requirements for CGN-NW programs are met.Key Responsibilities Academic Planning:
The Site Dean, CGN-NW, works with and supports the Associate/Assistant deans and Directors to deliver academic, research, and community plans which further the College's mission and goals. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, reviews the goals and objectives of all academic, research, and community programs of the College on at least an annual basis to ensure agreement with the College's mission goals and objectives. The Site Dean, CGN-NW, under the direction of the Dean, oversees all faculty participation in the College curriculum.Key Responsibilities Financial Management:
The Site Dean, CGN-NW, recommends the budgets of the academic components to the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW and monitors the judicious use of resources, which are subsequently provided. Leads the philanthropic plan for CGN-NW. The Site Dean, CGN- Oregon, ensures that human and fiscal resources are dedicated to achieving academic, research, and community goals of the College and facilitates institution - wide communications to ensure smooth functioning of all academic programs.Key Responsibilities Human Resources, Teaching and Scholarship:
Responsible for establishing a climate that encourages or rewards excellence in teaching and research, works closely with the associate and assistant deans and directors to develop programs that foster multi-disciplinary approaches to teaching and research while contributing to the University/College mission. Produces one piece of scholarship each year. May teach in a CGN program. Develops programs to retain qualified faculty and staff. Participates in the annual review of college administrators as appropriate.Faculty Recruitment:
Recommends faculty for employment and appointment within the College to the Dean, CGN, and CGN-NW, after consultation with the other associate and assistant deans and directors of the academic components. Ensures that procedures for faculty recruitment are in accordance with the goals and policies of the University/College. Participates in the screening and selection of faculty and staff.Faculty Development:
The Site Dean, CGN-NW, assists the Directors in obtaining resources for the development of each faculty member in the College and supports the Director in seeking and identifying institutional and external resources for faculty development.Key Responsibilities Administration:

The Site Dean, CGN-NW, cooperates with the appropriate state agencies, professional organizations, and crediting bodies to perform the required self -studies and provide the necessary reporting of information related to the Graduate Nursing programs.College Committees:
The Site Dean, CGN-NW, serves as an ex officio member on all standing committees and ad hoc committees relative to the academic, research, and community mission of the College. The Site Dean serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and other groups designated by the Dean, CGN, CGN-NW, or their designees. Key Responsibilities Other Responsibilities of theSite Dean of CGN-NW:
Conducts an end-of-year review of all activities related to the continuous quality improvement plan. Represents the College of Graduate Nursing - Oregon at various meetings involving professional and educational associations, governmental agencies, hospitals, and other health care delivery organizations, etc. Participates in professional societies and associations.
