The Assistant Director for Culture and Connection will be part of Stanford's Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Education (SHARE) Title IX & Title VI Office.
Responsibilities:
General Responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive educational curriculum aimed at preventing discrimination and harassment based on sex, race, color, and national origin. Translate complex federal regulations and university policies into engaging, relatable, and actionable programming for a diverse campus community comprised of students, staff, faculty, and postdocs Promote a "culture of care" that emphasizes both compliance with applicable policies and laws as well proactively building a community that inherently values constructive engagement, mutual respect, inclusion and belonging Education Under the direction of the Director of Education, design, develop, and implement evidence-based culture and compliance education related to Title VI and Title IX Deliver creative, relatable and engaging training, workshops, and presentations to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as to faculty, staff, and postdocs, focusing on interactive approaches wherever possible Manage the development and implementation of written and digital educational materials, including curricula, videos, handouts, guides, and training modules Under the direction of the Director of Education, use a theoretically-integrated framework of race, color, national origin, and sex to create experiential education Assessment and Evaluation Assess efficacy of culture and compliance education related to Title VI and Title IX Develop and administer climate-related surveys and other quantitative instruments to measure patterns and impact related to Title VI and Title IX concerns and integrate findings into program improvements Facilitate focus groups or other qualitative methods to gather experiential information about climate and institutional response Analyze program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on assessment data Maintain accurate documentation of programming, attendance, and assessment metrics Collaboration Under the direction of the Director of Education, develop and implement plans for Title VI and Title IX outreach efforts Represent the SHARE Office in collaborative education initiatives and programs with campus partners including Residential Education, the Centers for Equity Community and Leadership, Department of Athletics, Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Office of Student Engagement, the Graduate Life Office, student affairs, student groups, employee groups, and academic departments. Advise campus partners on integrating civil rights concepts into departmental programs and practices Communication Coordinate communication strategies including, but not limited to, social media presence, newsletters, web updates, and education campaigns
Required Education & Experience:
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Preferred:
Master's or higher degree in education or communications, and 4+ years of experience in developing educational programming in Title IX, Title VI, student affairs, or other academic settings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional public speaking skills and a demonstrated ability to engage college-aged, multi-aged, and professional audiences on sensitive topics. Understanding of how to teach civil rights concepts to a diverse audience with varying levels of prior knowledge. Ability to create and oversee the creation of high-quality visual content (infographics, short-form video) for educational purposes. Ability to develop programming tailored to the target audience group while incorporating innovative and evolving approaches and technologies based on best practices. Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team. Relevant subject matter knowledge.

The expected pay range for this position is $100,023 to $124,516 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
