JOB PURPOSE
The Dean of Academics serves as the instructional leader and execution of the organization's academic program. This role implements the vision for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning to ensure strong, measurable student outcomes. The Dean of Academics leads continuous improvement efforts, drives student achievement outcomes, and develops instructional leaders and faculty through data-informed practices and high-impact professional learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Vision & Strategy In alignment with administration helps develop and execute a comprehensive academic strategy aligned to the organization's mission and performance goals Establish clear instructional expectations and academic benchmarks Ensure curriculum alignment with state and national standards Supports and implements strategic academic planning and school improvement initiatives Curriculum & Instruction Leadership Supports the development, oversees implementation of standards-aligned curriculum Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels and departments Promote research-based, culturally responsive, and student-centered instructional practices Evaluate and recommend high-quality instructional materials and academic programs Faculty Development & Supervision Supports the supervision teachers and other support staff Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback Design and facilitate professional development aligned with instructional priorities Support teacher growth through coaching and performance management systems Assessment & Accountability Oversee formative and summative assessment systems Lead data analysis cycles to identify trends, gaps, and targeted interventions Monitor student achievement and ensure measurable academic growth Report academic outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders Compliance & Quality Assurance Oversee curriculum documentation, instructional audits, and program evaluations Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local education policies •

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with school enrollment numbers and organizational salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the Organization. FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree (BS) (Master's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university in an educationally related field or equivalent. Professional Certification in Reading K-12, Curriculum & Development, etc. Minimum 2yrs relevant experience (in school administration preferred) and/or training. Experience in student instruction. Demonstrated ability to lead a school community toward improved academic achievement. Computer literacy skills; proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Student Information System (FOCUS). Equivalent combination of education and experience. Such alternatives to the above requirements as Organization may find appropriate and acceptable.
