Job Description

Position Summary:
The incumbent in this position contributes to the efficient and systematic operation of the Health Education division of the Integrative Health Program of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent is responsible to provide, first and foremost, tribal wide fill-in coverage for Health Education line staff to ensure continuity of care in the Health Education service delivery. The individual provides assistance in the operation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Health Education Program in development of Health Education's policies and procedures, goals and objectives and annual plan. Assists with the development of Health Education's budget. Coordinates the development of Tribal wide youth/adults' Health Education program to include all aspects of wellness. The incumbent oversees the Health Education program's special events to target community, school and employee groups. Coordinates and participates in Tribal health fairs and off-site conferences as requested. Completes home visits as necessary. Assists in administrative oversight to the Seminole Health Education Program's staff to include, work performance, morale, cooperation and recommendations for disciplinary action in compliance with all STOF's policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Health Education or related field from an accredited college or university is required, Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience is required. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrate proficiency in supervisory and managerial skills. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft software. Ability to travel to all Seminole Reservation and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
