DEAN QUALIFICATIONS
: Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university Currently hold or have eligibility for a Florida Professional Educator Certificate Three (3) years of successful instructional experience in public school education (classroom teaching experience preferred)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Assists principal to monitor attendance records, research, develop and implement programs to improve student attendance, discipline and academics Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body; authorized to administer discipline according to School Board policy and the Student Code of Conduct Works with parents as required in maintaining student discipline, including bullying/harassment, threat assessment and Title IX investigations Refers severe discipline problems and/or chronic absentee problems to appropriate district personnel or community agencies Assists in maintaining campus safety and security Coordinates character education programs and activities as assigned by the principal Attends and monitors extra-curricular activities Implements and monitors other programs that prevent discipline problems and encourage good citizenship Develops and promotes strong relationships with school personnel and community to generate a collective and comprehensive commitment to the school culture Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effectively perform as an educational leader and demonstrate mastery of the Florida Educational Leadership Standards Knowledge of the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida Knowledge of Palm Bay schools' philosophy, policies, procedures, and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and the community Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with persons regardless of race, gender, physical limitation, sexual orientation, or religious belief, with an active commitment to equal opportunity for allstudents, staff, and stakeholders Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding students and staff Ability to implement programs and policies 1| Page
TITLE-DEAN TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Successful completion of State and Federal background checks is required for employment. Ten (10) months. Paygrade as established by the School Board in current Salary Placement Schedule - Administrative.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluated annually in accordance with School Board Policy.
